Week #82 2-15-16

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good week because mine was pretty great! The weather has been warming up a little and it is freaking great! I love warmth! Anyways! Here is my week!

Tuesday- We met with this family who is super awesome! One of their daughters is a member and she is super strong! And the mom and other sister and dad aren't members, so we are gonna start teaching them! We shared a thought and asked if we could come back another time and they asked if we could teach them the lessons! So that was pretty sweet! We also had a lesson with Becky and Mike and they are super awesome! We taught them the plan of Salvation and committed them to baptism! They are gonna get baptized hopefully on March 5th! They also got married this week, so things are really panning out with them and I am super happy for them!

Wednesday- So we have to do a lot of splits to so I went with our Ward mission leader in Homedale and we went and worked while Price and Wright.. The Price is Wright.... went and worked in Homedale! Then we had a lesson Wednesday night with Andy who is also getting Baptized on March 5th! He is freaking golden! We also had an appt with Melba, she is getting baptized on Saturday so that is gonna be super great! She is set and has totally turned her life around! She used to be southern Baptist and she has made leaps and jumps from where she was!

Thursday- We went and did service at the Dairy! We helped herd cows and give them shots! It was super fun! They were checking them all to see if they were prego and while the vet was checking them/ giving them a colonoscopy we would shoot them up with drugs and it was super fun! Then we went to Shirley's and made cards with her and talked to her about why we have big families!

Friday- Friday we went and helped at the Marsing Disaster auction! That was really fun! The auctioneer talked freaking fast! And they were selling doughnuts which were freaking amazing! Then I can't remember what we did the rest of the day.. hahaha

Saturday- I cant remember what we did again... sorry!

So Thanks everyone for the love and support! You all rock and hope you all have a good week!!

Week #81 2-8-16

Companions & Jace!

Standing on frozen river!

Hey everyone!! How are you all doing? So things have been freaking crazy this past week! I feel like it has been like four weeks though! Covering four wards is nuts! But we are making it work! It takes lots of planning and cunning craftiness to make this all work, but we got it! This has probably been one of the most fun weeks though! We have been laughing so much and its just a great time! So we are living out of two houses! One in Marsing and One in Homedale! It feels like we are on exchanges 24/7 because we are always packing our bags!! But we have a lot of work to do which is really good! Also, just a little side note, don't move to Marsing unless you are willing to blow a lot of money on a water filter. It smells like rotten eggs! Its awful! But this is how our week went!

Tuesday- We got our haircuts and I feel fat. Then we had to do a lot of planning getting things worked out for the week! Oh also Jace took us on an adventure!

Wednesday morning we had a lesson with this family who... well it's a long story. The mother was in jail so the baby was with an elderly couple while she was in jail. But she is out now living with the elderly couple so she can have her baby back and she has a boyfriend! So they aren't members, but they want to get baptized! They said they if they came to know the truth that they would get baptized and it was just a super awesome lesson! Then later that afternoon we met " The Gang"! Haha I don't even know how to explain them. They could probably have their own T.V. show, but its basically a bunch of people in an apartment complex who are really close! Anyway, we made a bet with them that if the Broncos win the super bowl then they have to come to church for two months straight... and guess what. THE BRONCOS WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO that is awesome! But in the gang there are a few people. But on of them is named D, and she is 17 years old! She comes to church when she can and is pretty golden. I think she is just scared of giving up her old life! But we are gonna get her dunked! Then Wednesday night we had a lesson with this kid named A who is pretty solid. He went up to a girl in the ward who he didn't really know and asked if he could go to church with them and then the rest is history. He is gonna get baptized in March so we are pumped for that!

Thursday- Thursday was a pretty slow day.

Well that was pretty much my week! Thanks for all the support and love! You guys are the best!

Week #80 2-1-16

Hey everyone! I hope you all have had a good week because mine kinda stunk! I have been kinda sick for the past couple weeks with a sore throat and cough, but this week it blew up! My head felt like it was going to explode from all the pressure, and my produced enough tears to quench the worlds thirst! haha Then we really couldn't do much with Elder Wrights ankle looking like an elephant who was allergic to peanuts!

Anyway, speaking of Elder Wrights foot, we took him to the Rehab clinic in Homedale, which a less active lady referred us too. But the Doctor was Mormon and I think he used black magic on his foot! It was insane! Wright went in there on crutches not being able to put any weight on it and literally ten minutes later we left and he was walking on his foot it was crazy! The dude has the Gift of Healing. yep that is it! The Gift of Healing! haha

So other than that we really didn't get much done! We gave like four people blessings which was pretty cool this week! We went to the Dairy and helped hang up a huge tarp over the shop door which was cool! It was gross though because they picked us up in a a tractor that had been scoopin poop all day so it smelled like poop! haha But it was fun! This all happened while Elder wright sat there and watched on his crutches! haha! He didn't get it fixed until like Saturday or so! Also, we like to play pranks on people out here because its really funny! So everyone in Homedale leaves the keys in their car and leaves the door unlocked so of course we had to take advantage of that one! We stole this kids truck and hid it behind this huge garage on his property and he Freaked out! haha it was great! We have been working a lot with the youth and been trying to get them on missions! There are two kids that I feel we have really helped make the decision to go out! They are super cool and we kinda just hang around them and show them how you can still have fun and be missionary at the same time! So keep them in your prayers!

Well I love you guys and thanks for all the prayers and support! You all rock!

P.S. Oh also forgot to talk about transfers. So me and Elder Wright are getting a thirds companion. His name is Elder Price and he is from Scottsdale AZ! But Our Area just tripled in size! haha We now cover not only homedale and Wilder. But Homedale, Wilder, Jordan Valley and Marsing! That is a lot of ground and our area touched the Nevada border so it is pretty crazy but yeah! Thats what happened with transfers!

Week #79 1-25-16

Brittany's Baptism!

Her husband baptized her.

On the farm!

Hey everyone! SO this week has been a weird one! This is a seven week transfer so normally this would be Transfer Pday, but it wasn't! So It's a little weird! But other then that things have been good! It is starting to warm up which is freaking awesome! I love the heat! It is seriously the best thing ever!

So on Wednesday we had a Broadcast with some of the leadership in the church. Elder Bednar and Elder Oaks were there and also President Nelson! It was really cool because they had all the missionaries from across the world watching this at the same time! They haven't done that for a decade! They talked a lot about repentance! I love repentance because with out it we would all be wrecked! Luckily our Father in Heaven is gracious enough to let our Savior Jesus Christ take the punishment for us! Literally the best two guys around! haha But I like it because according to the scriptures we are called, as missionaries, to preach repentance unto the people! That is what is going to save people is repentance! We don't need to be perfect in keeping the commandments, or perfect in even TRYING to keep the commandments. As long as we are perfect in repenting, then we are sent. We will make back to our Heavenly father by that alone.

So then on Thursday, we went to the dairy and worked some more! I got to feed the baby cows! They are super cute! haha I was pouring milk into their bowls and when I would do it they were so excited they started like eating my hand and drinking the milk as I was pouring it! It was kinda funny! But afterwards, this Mexican guy that works there was freaking out because it was going to rain, so I told him that we could pray so it doesn't rain! Haha he looked at me like I was crazy and was like " You think that wiil work?" and I told him " I know it will work". Then he looked like I was even more crazy! haha It was really funny! I wish I could just video tape everything I do because then my emails would be so much easier to explain it!

Saturday we had a baptism! It was really good! Brittany got baptized and it was a really good program! She had her two cousins speak, who are the only members in her family and it was super awesome! The spirit was super strong and I think the coolest part was that her husband got to baptize her! Not very many people get to say that! So Good for them! They are gonna be a super strong family and I am totally coming back when they get sealed in the temple!

Then today we were playing basketball and we were really having a good time. But Elder Wright had to ruin it and sprain his ankle! Then he was crying like a little girl saying it hurt so bad so we took him to the hospital and spent the rest of the day there! Such a baby! Haha! (He loves Elder Wright)

Well I love you guys and thanks for all the love! have a good week and talk to you next week!

Week #78 1-18-16

Missionaries exploring Jump Creek

Hey everyone! How is it going?? My week was really good! We did a crap tone of service but it was really fun! We helped this kid in our ward with his eagle scout project so hopefully he will send me the pictures but we will see! We also went out to the dairy again and it was pretty fun! Other than that not a lot has happened! Brittney is getting baptized on Saturday and I am super stoked! It is gonna be great! Also we got a call last night from ward missionary with a golden referral! They even set up an appointment for us for tomorrow so we are gonna go teach him! He is already talking about being baptized and coming to church! we are super pumped! He has a word of wisdom issue but we will make him stop!

Well I am sorry my email this week is so lame. There are missionaries waiting to get on so i love you guys and thanks for all the support! Have a good week and don't take any wooden nickels!

Week #77 1-11-16

Learning to milk cows!

Hey everyone! This week has been really good and flew by really quick!

So we started the week off with exchanges! It was good because I got to hang out with the Zone Leader all day and see how he works and learn from him! We went to what they call "U-tuesdays". Basically it is just an open house for investigators and less actives to get a feel for the church and feel the spirit! It is really good!

Then the next day we went on exchanges again, but this time Elder Ward (previous companion in Nampa East) came with me and Elder Wright! We had a good time!  But we went to the Dairy the next day! That was fun! Elder Ward was hoping a fence and he got caught up and fell face first into a crap ton of crap! hahaha he smelled like..... yeah! Anyways, we also revived a cow! It was crazy! We were driving down the row of cows and the owner was freaking out because there was a dead cow in the middle of the field! Then I told him that it was still twitching and he threw the truck into reverse and got out and hopped the fence and we ran over to the cow and stood her up because she was really bloated and was about to pop like a balloon! But we saved her before she popped! It was really funny though because the owner looked like he belonged on bay watch when he was running to the cow! It was really funny! Me and Elder Ward couldn't stop laughing! haha!

Also a member from Kuna came down and visited Elder Wright! They are super cool and it was good to see them! We also helped a member fix his Buggy and it was fun! He got covered in mud when he drove it because it was super muddy! Haha
Well I love you guys and hope yall are having a good time without me! Because I am having a good time with out you! haha love you guys! Thanks for everything!

Week #76 1-4-16

All of their Christmas loot!

Elder Rogers and Elder Wright!

Hey everyone! So this week has been pretty good! We had a lot of fun. Except for the fact that it is so stinking cold outside. The other day we were driving and it hit -1 degrees and I thought I was gonna die! But other then that it was a good week! We had new years so we had to be in our apartments by 6:00 so we got to catch up on some sleep! That was pretty nice!

This week we got to go work on the dairy! It was freaking legit! Got to drive the huge freaking tractor! And play in the poop and milk some cows! Funny story, we were riding on the tractor and I looked at Elder Wright and asked if he had the phone, and he said no. So neither of us had it. So we were looking for it and found it in a pile of pooped that got ran over by the tractor! haha it was super funny! But don't worry our phone still worked! haha The only bad part is the phone still smells like poop, but that is okay!

We also had a lesson with Brittney and we postponed her baptism, because she wants her family to be there. So no worries, she is still gonna get dunked!

Spiritual thought:
Mosiah 4:9

Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.

I really like this scripture because it helps us realize that Heavenly Father can see more than us, he can see beyond our instant gratification. He has given us commandments because he knows what we CAN become. Where we only know what we WANT to become. He knows us better than we know ourselves. So trust in the lord always and let Him guide you.

Love yall! Have a good week! Happy New Years!
