Week #84 2-29-16

Elder Rogers loves the dairy!

Hey everyone how are ya'll doing?? I am doing really good! Homedale is treating me really well! Can you believe its February already?? That is crazy! Spring is coming and I am ready for it! So not much to talk about this week. We had a blast though! We visited a lot of people who aren't necessarily progressing, but they needed a visit! We also had stake conference which is always good! It was really weird to only go to two hours of church on Sunday! Usually we are there from 7:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon! I found some connections this week. There is a guy who lives in Marsing who knows Bruce and Sterling and he also knew Grandpa Rogers! Crazy how small the world is! He also knows a guy in our area who isn't a member, but he knew Gpa pretty well I guess so I am gonna go see him! We went and worked on the dairy this week again and gave cows their shots! Hopefully you guys like the videos and pics! They make me happy! haha

Love you guys! Hope you have a good week and like always thanks for the love support and prayers! Take care!

Week #83 2-22-16

Melba's baptism!

Helping on the dairy!

Pondering?

Hey everyone! How is it going?? My week was good! The weather has been AMAZING! I could actually where a short sleeved shirt! Can't wait until I can start wearing shorts again! haha

Tuesday- We did service at the dairy and it was pretty fun again! We gave shots to all the bulls and it was really scary! There were jumping the fences and trampling each other! They broke the metal chute like three times! There was one that wasn't standing up so I tried standing it up by picking up its neck! I got it to stand up.. he just decided to step on my foot! It freaking hurt! Then that night we had a lesson with the Barrosos! Which went pretty good! We taught her about the Atonement and I think we really helped her understand it better!

Wednesday- Every Wednesday morning we go and do service at the senior center! They always feed us lunch too! Normally we just sweep and mop and do little odd jobs like that! SO that was fun. Then we went on splits and me and Elder wright went and tracted a little bit, but nothing really happened so that was a bummer! We also had our last lesson with Melba before she got baptized! It went really good and we got her all ready for Saturday! Then Wednesday night we had a lesson with Andy which went really well! We are still shooting for March 5th with him! SO keep him in your prayers!

Friday- We had district meeting which was alright! I am so sick of meetings! Sometimes I feel like we are in meetings more then we are out working! haha Then we had an interview with Melba for her baptism which was good! Then that night we had sports night which was pretty fun!

Saturday- We did service for a member in the ward! We took out an old fence that was burried underneath a tree! haha The tree grew over it and I never thought we were gonna get it out, but we ended up actually pulling it out! It was crazy! Then that afternoon we had the baptism! It was really awesome! The spirit was there and Melba was super happy about it!

Then on Sunday she got confirmed and it was really good! She is gonna be a really great member of the church! Well that was pretty much the week! I hope you all have a good week and never forget to not take any wooden nickles! Love ya!

Week #82 2-15-16

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good week because mine was pretty great! The weather has been warming up a little and it is freaking great! I love warmth! Anyways! Here is my week!

Tuesday- We met with this family who is super awesome! One of their daughters is a member and she is super strong! And the mom and other sister and dad aren't members, so we are gonna start teaching them! We shared a thought and asked if we could come back another time and they asked if we could teach them the lessons! So that was pretty sweet! We also had a lesson with Becky and Mike and they are super awesome! We taught them the plan of Salvation and committed them to baptism! They are gonna get baptized hopefully on March 5th! They also got married this week, so things are really panning out with them and I am super happy for them!

Wednesday- So we have to do a lot of splits to so I went with our Ward mission leader in Homedale and we went and worked while Price and Wright.. The Price is Wright.... went and worked in Homedale! Then we had a lesson Wednesday night with Andy who is also getting Baptized on March 5th! He is freaking golden! We also had an appt with Melba, she is getting baptized on Saturday so that is gonna be super great! She is set and has totally turned her life around! She used to be southern Baptist and she has made leaps and jumps from where she was!

Thursday- We went and did service at the Dairy! We helped herd cows and give them shots! It was super fun! They were checking them all to see if they were prego and while the vet was checking them/ giving them a colonoscopy we would shoot them up with drugs and it was super fun! Then we went to Shirley's and made cards with her and talked to her about why we have big families!

Friday- Friday we went and helped at the Marsing Disaster auction! That was really fun! The auctioneer talked freaking fast! And they were selling doughnuts which were freaking amazing! Then I can't remember what we did the rest of the day.. hahaha

Saturday- I cant remember what we did again... sorry!

So Thanks everyone for the love and support! You all rock and hope you all have a good week!!

Week #81 2-8-16

Companions & Jace!

Standing on frozen river!

Hey everyone!! How are you all doing? So things have been freaking crazy this past week! I feel like it has been like four weeks though! Covering four wards is nuts! But we are making it work! It takes lots of planning and cunning craftiness to make this all work, but we got it! This has probably been one of the most fun weeks though! We have been laughing so much and its just a great time! So we are living out of two houses! One in Marsing and One in Homedale! It feels like we are on exchanges 24/7 because we are always packing our bags!! But we have a lot of work to do which is really good! Also, just a little side note, don't move to Marsing unless you are willing to blow a lot of money on a water filter. It smells like rotten eggs! Its awful! But this is how our week went!

Tuesday- We got our haircuts and I feel fat. Then we had to do a lot of planning getting things worked out for the week! Oh also Jace took us on an adventure!

Wednesday morning we had a lesson with this family who... well it's a long story. The mother was in jail so the baby was with an elderly couple while she was in jail. But she is out now living with the elderly couple so she can have her baby back and she has a boyfriend! So they aren't members, but they want to get baptized! They said they if they came to know the truth that they would get baptized and it was just a super awesome lesson! Then later that afternoon we met " The Gang"! Haha I don't even know how to explain them. They could probably have their own T.V. show, but its basically a bunch of people in an apartment complex who are really close! Anyway, we made a bet with them that if the Broncos win the super bowl then they have to come to church for two months straight... and guess what. THE BRONCOS WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO that is awesome! But in the gang there are a few people. But on of them is named D, and she is 17 years old! She comes to church when she can and is pretty golden. I think she is just scared of giving up her old life! But we are gonna get her dunked! Then Wednesday night we had a lesson with this kid named A who is pretty solid. He went up to a girl in the ward who he didn't really know and asked if he could go to church with them and then the rest is history. He is gonna get baptized in March so we are pumped for that!

Thursday- Thursday was a pretty slow day.

Well that was pretty much my week! Thanks for all the support and love! You guys are the best!

Week #80 2-1-16

Hey everyone! I hope you all have had a good week because mine kinda stunk! I have been kinda sick for the past couple weeks with a sore throat and cough, but this week it blew up! My head felt like it was going to explode from all the pressure, and my produced enough tears to quench the worlds thirst! haha Then we really couldn't do much with Elder Wrights ankle looking like an elephant who was allergic to peanuts!

Anyway, speaking of Elder Wrights foot, we took him to the Rehab clinic in Homedale, which a less active lady referred us too. But the Doctor was Mormon and I think he used black magic on his foot! It was insane! Wright went in there on crutches not being able to put any weight on it and literally ten minutes later we left and he was walking on his foot it was crazy! The dude has the Gift of Healing. yep that is it! The Gift of Healing! haha

So other than that we really didn't get much done! We gave like four people blessings which was pretty cool this week! We went to the Dairy and helped hang up a huge tarp over the shop door which was cool! It was gross though because they picked us up in a a tractor that had been scoopin poop all day so it smelled like poop! haha But it was fun! This all happened while Elder wright sat there and watched on his crutches! haha! He didn't get it fixed until like Saturday or so! Also, we like to play pranks on people out here because its really funny! So everyone in Homedale leaves the keys in their car and leaves the door unlocked so of course we had to take advantage of that one! We stole this kids truck and hid it behind this huge garage on his property and he Freaked out! haha it was great! We have been working a lot with the youth and been trying to get them on missions! There are two kids that I feel we have really helped make the decision to go out! They are super cool and we kinda just hang around them and show them how you can still have fun and be missionary at the same time! So keep them in your prayers!

Well I love you guys and thanks for all the prayers and support! You all rock!

P.S. Oh also forgot to talk about transfers. So me and Elder Wright are getting a thirds companion. His name is Elder Price and he is from Scottsdale AZ! But Our Area just tripled in size! haha We now cover not only homedale and Wilder. But Homedale, Wilder, Jordan Valley and Marsing! That is a lot of ground and our area touched the Nevada border so it is pretty crazy but yeah! Thats what happened with transfers!
